Hull will fight hard to keep Tom Briscoe

Hull chairman Adam Pearson says the club will do everything in its power to keep winger Tom Briscoe.

Briscoe, 22, is out of contract at the end of 2013, and has been attracting interest from clubs in the NRL. The new anti-tampering deadline in Super League means he is free to talk to other European clubs from May 1st.

Pearson told the BBC: “We need to talk to Tom really early in the new year because he has an ambition to play in Australia.

“We’re going to offer him a long contract on huge money but that might not be enough.

“Tom is a great, highly-respected player and we’d love to keep him.”

Briscoe has scored 73 tries in 118 appearances for the Airlie Birds, having made his debut against Warrington as a 17-year-old in 2008.
