Hull to wear special shirt at Magic

Hull will wear a special shirt etched with the names of supporters and past players against derby rivals Hull KR at the Magic Weekend.

The traditional hooped kit includes the names of legends such as Johnny Whiteley, Clive Sullivan and Peter Sterling, as well as current half-back Richard Horne, who will wear the shirt himself on Saturday.

He said: “I’m very proud and humbled to be voted onto the shirt by the fans and it will mean a lot to look down on Saturday and see myself alongside some truly great players of the club.

“The fact that it is a derby makes it all the more special as we know just how much these games mean to the fans. The bragging rights are at stake and the importance of the game is not lost on the players.

“We are happy with how we have been playing recently but form counts for nothing in a derby. We have to make sure we prepare well this week and put in another good performance.”
