Hull KR will be without hooker Matt Parcell for the Warrington clash

Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell suffered a season-ending injury in Friday night’s defeat to Leeds.

The Australian suffered a torn pectoral muscle in the 36-12 loss at Leeds, whilst prop Will Maher will be monitored after he went off with a hamstring injury. Prop Albert Vete pulled out of the game with tightness in his calf.

Hull KR coach Tony Smith is confident he can pick his team up for the Betfred Super League play-offs after they ended the regular season with a defeat at Headingley.

The six-try hammering means the Robins finish sixth and go to one of Smith’s old clubs Warrington in the elimination play-offs next Friday, while fifth-placed Leeds go to Wigan 24 hours earlier.

A breakaway try from Mikey Lewis helped cancel out Rob Lui’s early try for Leeds but that was as good as it got for the visitors and Smith admitted the Rhinos were the better team.

Smith said: “I thought we were unpicked in that first half. We had a couple of opportunities but I thought Rhinos were the better team.

“They found some more energy and blew our legs off a little bit, we’ve done that to teams many times this year.

“I thought we struggled with the ball, we didn’t throw too much at them.

“We had nobody on the bench for a while. I’m really proud of their efforts to dig in for each other. They could have capitulated but some of those boys put in some big shifts.

“They were trying hard for each other but they ran out of petrol.

“We’ve got a week to find some energy and throw our gloves up again. It’s not doom and gloom. We’ve had a terrific season so far and it’s not ending yet.”
