Hull KR's Matt Parcell and Frankie Halton tackle James Roby

Hull KR boss Tony Smith says the club will monitor the fitness of pair Matt Parcell and Dean Hadley for their clash in Perpignan.

Parcell started in the recent win over Salford at the AJ Bell Stadium on Friday night. Utility forward Dean Hadley featured from the bench.

The duo picked up knocks in their 26-16 win, and the club will be keeping a close eye on their fitness ahead of their upcoming clash in France.

Hull KR will travel to Perpignan on a one-day trip to face the Dragons in round six of Super League.

Tony Smith provides squad update at Hull KR

“It’ll be touch and go for them for the weekend,” Smith said during his pre-match press call.

“If they’re not right, they won’t play.

“Matty is a dead leg and Dean is a knock to the calf. Because he’s (Hadley) had an issue with his calf before in that same area, we’ll see how they run it off in the next couple of days.

“We’re not going to take any risks on anybody at this stage. We’ll assess it as the week processes.”

Lachlan Coote set to miss clash

Off-season signing Lachlan Coote has struggled with fitness since making the move to Craven Park.

The former St Helens full-back featured in their opening clash in Super League against Wigan, but has struggled since.

He left the field during his only other appearance of the season against the current champions in round four.

“It’s similar for him. If I was a gambling man, and I’m not, but I’d bet you he probably won’t make it.

“I want him to be not worried about it. I think it’s a fair pressure when you come to a new club, you want to get out there and show your team-mates and everyone around your worth.

“I think he’ll show his worth further down the track. I’d rather him take a couple of weeks off and not have it on his mind than having him rush back in order to prove points to people. I don’t think he needs to do that for us.”
