Hull KR coach Chris Chester has confirmed that he is looking to strengthen his forward pack for next season.

A report from the Hull Daily Mail maintains that Leeds forward Chris Clarkson is a target for the club.

While Chester would not confirm that report, he did reveal that contract talks are ongoing with a number of players already at the club, and that some new arrivals will be on their way too.

“We’re always looking at players, but there’s no ink on paper yet in terms of retention and bringing people in, but we’re not too far away. We should have some news in the near future,” Chester told the Hull Daily Mail.

“We’ve been planning for next year for the last few months and the club has shown their intent at bringing quality players to this club and there’s more quality coming in too.

“We want to make a couple of additions to the pack. I’m pretty happy with the squad that we have managed to assemble this year.”

One player who Chester does want to keep is Shaun Lunt, and an offer has been made to the hooker.

“We want to keep hold of Shaun Lunt, a contract has gone to his agent and I don’t think we’re too far away,” he said.
