Joel Tomkins has returned to Hull KR after being admitted to hospital after suffering a serious concussion.

Tomkins was taken to hospital during Hull KR’s loss at Warrington Wolves on Saturday, following a collision with Blake Austin, which the Warrington half-back was sin-binned for.

The forward let the Halliwell Jones Stadium shortly after the incident and Tomkins stayed with his family in Wigan that night, before returning to Hull the following day.

Tomkins could still feature for Tim Sheens’ side against London Broncos on Sunday, with it being outside of the seven-day concussion protocol.

He will be assessed further in the coming days and must pass a concussion assessment in order to play against London.
