Four tries from Michael Dobson helped Hull KR overturn a 12 point deficit to beat Wigan 39-22 at New Craven Park. nnA brace from George Carmont along with a try from Joel Tomkins gave Wigan a 16-10 lead going in at the break, with Rovers responding through Kirk Netherton and Dobson.nnA second half hat-trick and drop goal from Dobson, along with tries from Jon Steel and Rhys Lovegrove completed the victory for Rovers. Wigan’s only try of the second half went to Pat Richards. nnThe hosts made a lively start to the game and deservedly took the lead within five minutes of the kick off. A good drive from dummy half lead to Netherton bundling his way over for a try. nnBut Wigan soon hit back when a quick play the ball from Thomas Leuluai allowed Trent Barrett to send a long cut out ball to put Tomkins in for a try in the corner. nnThe situation got worse for Rovers who lost Daniel Fitzhenry to injury just a minute later. nnHull continued to push forward and a kick through by Dobson into the in goal error worried the Wigan defence, but luckily for the visitors the ball bounced just past the dead ball line.nnIt was then Wigan’s turn to put pressure on their opponents and after 23 minutes they moved in front. Smart play from Leuluai set up a try under the sticks for Carmont. Richards added the extras.nnThe Robins hit back immediately with Dobson taking two defenders the wrong way before going over for a try in the corner, which Paul Cooke converted. nnRovers were pinning Wigan back in their own half, and there was soon a big cheer from the home crowd as Kris Welham made a 30 metre break.nnBut it was Wigan who ended the first half on top as Carmont went over for his second try in what had been an end to end battle. Richards added the extras.nnWigan moved further in front in within a minute of the restart when a missed tackle on the 30 metre line allowed Richards to race clear for a try, which he also converted.nnHull took longer to get into gear in the second half but back to back tries helped them level the scores before the hour mark.nnDobson raced through the gap for his second try before Steel fended off Leuluai for a score in the corner five minutes later. Cooke added both goals to level the scores at 22-22.nnRovers continued to push forward and after a positive set of six forced a drop out, as Wigan struggled to get a touch of the ball. On the final tackle Dobson latched onto his own kick to run in for a try, which Cooke converted to put KR in front.nnThe momentum continued to be with the hosts as Fisher broke away from inside his own half. On the last tackle Cooke chipped for the line and Wigan knocked the ball dead for a goal line drop out. nnDobson slotted over a drop goal on 63 minutes to put Rovers seven points ahead with Wigan now needing to score twice.nnWigan began to pile on the pressure but were left frustrated as Gareth Hock lost possession. nnBut the visitors were given a stroke of luck after the ball deflected off a Rovers arm to give Wigan another set of six.
