Hudgell still equivocal about Hodgson’s future

Hull KR chairman Neil Hudgell insists that Josh Hodgson will remain focused, despite speculation linking the hooker with a move to NRL club Canberra Raiders.

He also confirmed that no one from the Raiders has contacted him directly about the player.

“He remains very pivotal to what we want to achieve this season, so he is obviously going to attract interest,” Hudgell told the Hull Daily Mail.

“Hull is the greatest place in the world for speculation, but he is contracted for another two years and he has not signed a contract anywhere else.

“Until that situation changes, there is nothing more to say.

“No-one has contacted me personally regarding the matter.

“Josh is developing as a player year-on-year. He is now in the England squad and is also our captain.”

It is believed that Rovers want at least a six-figure transfer fee for the highly-rated 24-year-old, who offers plenty in defence and attack from dummy half.
