Hudgell frustrated by Eden

Hull KR chairman Neil Hudgell has revealed that he was angry with Greg Eden, after a disciplinary lapse from the full-back saw him omitted from the team which lost at home to Salford on Sunday.

The player was seen in a nightclub, which his club chairman felt was a “selfish” act.

Hudgell wants to see a change of culture at Rovers, after a season in which Wayne Ulugia and Jonny Walker have left the club following disciplinary issues.

“It’s about getting the right people in, the right culture at the club, and Greg let us down this week,” he told BBC Humberside.

“He can’t stay out of the nightclubs of Hull when he shouldn’t be in there. That’s the fourth player this season.

“He may have helped us today if he were playing. But he wasn’t playing for his own selfish reasons.

“It’s trying to drill out of the club that culture and mind-set.”

There are also more new recruits on the way to the club, according to Hudgell. The Robins recently signed Darrell Goulding from Wigan for next season, and more are on the way, it would seem.

“We’ve signed two players and we’ve got a couple more signings in the pipeline,” he added.

“The hope and expectations is that they’re going to enhance the playing group, because they need to. We’re trying to improve what we’ve got.”
