Huddersfield coach Rick Stone said his side were dominated by Hull KR on Thursday night.

The Giants went into an early 6-0 lead but the Rovers fought back to have a 20-6 advantage at half time. They scored three more tries in the second half to round off a convincing 38-6 victory at the John Smith’s Stadium.

And Stone admitted that they were beaten by the better team on the night.

He said: “Full credit to the opposition, they were great.

“I don’t think we underestimated them by any stretch of the imagination. Even though they hadn’t been winning, they had been really competitive and played really well in the conditions. They didn’t make an error in the first half and they carried that on in the second.

“We were outplayed by a team who played really well. The conditions were tough and we probably tried to play around them a little too much and the change in direction from KR was great so full credit to them and we have got a bit of thinking to do before we play our next game.

“Our confidence was alright before the game, for sure. We’ve beat ourselves in the last couple of games that we have lost but we were beaten by the opposition today. They played well.”

Next up for Huddersfield is a trip to the DW Stadium next Friday as they face Wigan Warriors, 8pm kick-off.
