How England could line-up against Combined Nations All Stars

Josh McAllister

We take a look at how England could line-up for this Friday’s mid-season international friendly against Combined Nations All Stars at Halliwell Jones Stadium.

England head coach Shaun Wane this week cut a 24-man squad down to 19 ahead of the clash, with England Women set to play Wales before the Men’s fixture in Warrington.

George Williams, who recently returned to the UK following his release from Canberra Raiders, has not been included in the England squad by Wane. Warrington’s Toby King, Huddersfield’s Jake Wardle and Salford’s Dan Sarginson were also dropped.

England’s fourth-top try scorer in Jermaine McGillvary is the shock inclusion for the Combined Nations All Stars, while Jake Connor has also been named by Tim Sheens, with both players not being selected for England.

Predicted England XIII: Tomkins, Makinson, Bateman, Lyne, Davies, Gale, Lomax, Walmsley, McShane, Cooper, Farrell, Knowles, Westerman.

Subs: Clark, Oledzki, Philbin, Currie.
