Holt expects to make Craven Park a fortress

Barrow Raiders coach Darren Holt has set his side the goal of remaining undefeated at Craven Park this season.

That includes against opposition from higher leagues, starting with last year’s Championship 1 table-toppers Swinton Lions.

Holt said: “I don’t want us to get beaten at home all year.

“We know that Swinton are a division above us, and it’s good for us to play those teams because it will stand us in good stead for our league.

“If we do things right and put in a good performance then I’m quietly confident.”

Barrow are expected to welcome back four key players for his side’s visit of Swinton. The Raiders sent Workington back up the A595 pointless after a 31-24 win at Craven Park, after a wonderful third quarter of the game.

He said: “I thought the first 20 minutes of the second half was the best we’ve played all year.”
