Hohaia fitting in at Saints

St Helens stand-off Lance Hohaia has given his appreciation to his Saints teammates and family for helping him adapt to life at Langtree Park.

Hohaia previously plied his trade in the NRL with the New Zealand Warriors before making the switch at the start of this season to St Helens ending a career of 10 years at the Warriors.

The 2008 World Cup winner told us how he has found settling in at St Helens

He said: “It was a big change for me, was at the Warriors for 10 years. To move here and to play in a semi new position is a big challenge, but I like to challenge myself.

All the boys have been a great bunch on and off the field. Both Royce Simmons and now Mike Rush have had a lot of faith in me and given me the opportunity that I came here for.”

The Kiwi also said how his family have always supported him through thick and thin and have been good coach’s off the field.

He said: “My Mum and Dad have always been there for me since I could run, it has been hard for both of them. The two of them have been good coach’s off the field and I definitely thank them for the sacrifices they have made.”

This season Hohaia has featured 18 times for Saints and scored four tries.
