Hiku to depart Wolves

Peta Hiku is to leave Warrington at the end of the season and return to the NRL with New Zealand Warriors, citing family reasons.

Hiku, 24, has been a shining light in a disappointing year for the Wolves, but leaves barely months in to a two-and-a-half year deal.

He said: “I tried to convince my partner to come over however she is not ready to make the move with our son away from our extended family, I also have a daughter in New Zealand. I have really enjoyed my time here; the fans, the club, everyone has been more than supportive, this is a great club that I would love to return to in the future.”

Hiku has scored six tries in nine appearances for the Wolves since making his debut in the defeat to Wakefield back in July.
