Former Leeds, Bradford and Warrington star Iestyn Harris has become a director of the new Tag Rugby Group.

Harris, 33, is currently playing in the Championship for Featherstone and won seven caps for Great Britain in rugby league and 25 caps for Wales in rugby union.

Harris said: “Tag Rugby is a fast and exciting sport that anybody can enjoy. It incorporates all your rugby skills, but without the contact.”

Tag Rugby Group director Alistair Davis said: “Iestyn’s experience through 15 years of top level rugby in Northern England and Wales will be invaluable to our business as we develop tag rugby across the UK. We are all thoroughly pleased to have him on board.”

Tag Rugby Group incoming CEO, Phillip Browne added: “I’m looking forward to working with Iestyn. We have big plans for Tag Rugby Group and Iestyn will be a valuable member of our team.”

Tag Rugby Group is busy planning their inaugural tournament, the London Tag Rugby Championships on August 30th. This event for adult tag rugby players of any ability level or experience has categories for men’s open, men’s social, men’s over 35s, women’s and mixed teams. The winning team in the men’s open category will take home £2,000 in prize money. Teams are strongly encouraged to enter soon, to avoid missing out.
