Haley stays with Hunslet

Prop Michael Haley has signed a one-year contract extension with Hunslet.

Haley, 26, joined the Hawks from Featherstone in April, and made 14 appearances before a broken thumb ended his season prematurely.

Director of Rugby Darren Williams said: “Michael is a tremendous addition to our 2014 squad, he was a player we earmarked as vital to retain as we look to regain our Championship status at the first attempt, he does what is says on the tin and his aggressive no nonsense approach will make him a stand out figure in our pack.

“He lives in Churwell so he’s just a stones throw away from the stadium and adds another home grown player to our squad which bodes well as we look to strengthen our community links, were under no illusions as to the challenge that lies in front of us but I’m thrilled that we have been able to retain or attract a number of Championship standard players despite relegation.”
