Groat suspended for striking

Matt Groat of Doncaster has been suspended for three matches for Grade D reckless striking with the elbow, the RFL have confirmed.

The offence was committed on Bradford Bulls player Lee Gaskell in the Championship match at Provident Stadium played on Sunday June 7.

Groat, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £100.

The following players submitted Early Guilty Pleas (EGP) to charges brought last week:

Jack Walton (Doncaster) – two-match suspension for Grade C dangerous throw v Bradford;

Anthony Bate (Barrow Raiders) – no further action for Grade A striking v Keighley Cougars but loses right to submit EGP for 12 months;

Lee Haney (Barrow) – two-match suspension for Grade C striking v Keighley.
