Bobby Goulding has today become the new Barrow head coach, taking over from Anthony Murray who resigned earlier this month.

Goulding, 42, brings with him a wealth of experience, having made a total of 22 international appearances for England and Great Britain during his playing career.

The former St Helens scrum-half’s last coaching job was with France in 2011, and since then he has spent time in the Sporting Chance clinic to recover from alcohol and drug related issues

An official statement on the Barrow website reads: “Everyone at the club wishes Bobby all the best, and this signing takes the club to a new level.

“Bobby brings a wealth of experience and talent to the club, and will look to lead the team to a top nine finish in the league – if anyone can do it Bobby can.”
