Gibson out for four months

Wakefield’s Ashley Gibson will be out for the next four months as he undergoes surgery to repair his shoulder.

Gibson was injured in Friday’s win over Widnes. The outside back was hurt in tackle by Vikings winger Patrick Ah Van.

Gibson tweeted today: “Just seen the specialist. Done a lot of damage in the shoulder and bicep. Operation on Monday. Looking at 4 months.”

Ah Van was banned for five games for his tackle.
