Gentle demands Hull FC improvement

Hull FC coach Peter Gentle has demanded an improved performance when the Airlie Birds host Leeds on Friday night.

Gentle’s Hull have lost just one of their last nine games but the Australian was less than pleased as his side narrowly beat rivals Hull KR during Magic Weekend.

That win was recorded in controversial fashion, with Hull grabbing the two points courtesy of an incorrect video decision by referee Steve Ganson, and Gentle is is desperate for his side to start playing well again.

He said: “The game can’t come soon enough.

“We won’t sit back thinking we can afford a couple more losses, tomorrow is win at all costs. It’s a great challenge. We’re up against the ‘champion’ side, but we are up for it.

“We’ve treated the derby game as a loss, I don’t think we played well enough to deserve a win. Fortunately, we got the result through one way or another.

Gentle is without the services of Richard Horne for the visit of Leeds, who are looking for their first win in four games.
