GB Armed Forces team for State of Origin curtain-raiser

The Great Britain Armed Forces team has been confirmed for their game against Combined Australian Services at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Wednesday.

The game is functioning as a curtain raiser for Origin III.

GB head coach Damien Clayton acknowledges that the talent in the squad made making a final selection very tricky for him.

“Some tough decisions were made, obviously all were desperate to make the team,” he said.

“This is a talented squad and I knew selection headaches would come as part of the job.

“I’m extremely proud of the team and I could have picked any one of those 21 players, but I have gone for partnerships that I think will win us the game at Suncorp Stadium.

“The bond between these players is fantastic. We all know that a collective effort is needed to beat the Australians on Wednesday.”
