Gale pleased Cas found a way to win

Castleford half-back Luke Gale was relieved that his team managed to beat Catalans Dragons at the weekend.

The Tigers won 36-28, but Gale acknowledged afterwards that the Yorkshire outfit had made things hard for themselves.

“It was a good two points,” he told his club’s official website.

“We started well and raced off to a bit of a lead. We let them in just before half-time, and we didn’t come out second half – we were pretty poor.

“But we dug in and we found a way to win, which we’ve done a lot this year.”

The victory was rendered even sweeter for Gale as Cas had been defeated when they travelled down to Perpignan earlier in the season.

“Yeah, it’s a bit of revenge,” he added.

“We should have done them over there, to be honest, it should be a double.

“We’ll take that. There’s a few things to work on.

“Daryl [Powell] came in and said that he’s got even greyer watching that game, so he wasn’t best pleased!

“But a win’s a win. We’re building. we’ve got a bit of momentum now, and we’re looking to kick on with Wigan on Friday.”
