Fuifui Moimoi suffers family tragedy as nephew found dead

Leigh Centurions have informed Fuifui Moimoi that he can take as much time as he needs to come to terms with the sudden death of his nephew.

Moimoi’s 22-year-old nephew has been found dead, reportedly shot, in his car in Utah in the United States.

“Fuifui is in a bad place at the moment,” said Leigh’s head of rugby Derek Beaumont, according to the Leigh Reporter.

“We have offered him the chance to fly over but at the moment he is just trying to find out everything he can about what has happened.

“Fuifui and his cousin were incredibly close and he used to call him ‘his little brother’.

“We as a club will do everything we can to help Fuifui. I have told him he can have as much time off as he wants.

“All we know at this stage is that his nephew has apparently been shot and was found dead in his car.

“We are a family club and are will always do whatever we can to support our players.”
