Featherstone have announced their fifth signing of the day, with Jamel Chisholm joining the club from Leeds.

Chisholm, 21, has agreed a two-year contract at the Big Fellas Stadium, and incoming Rovers head coach John Bastian believes the dual-code winger is capable of great things.

“Jamel has already had a good education and apprenticeship through his involvement at Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Carnegie,” said Bastian.

“Unfortunately he has had limited opportunities at the Rhinos, but I am sure like all our new signings that if he shows endeavour, determination and a hard working attitude then he is capable of achieving great things at Featherstone Rovers.”

Chisholm, who was crowned Rugby League’s fastest man in 2009 and 2010, is excited by his move to the 2013 Championship League Leaders.

He said, “I am looking forward to continuing my rugby league education at Featherstone Rovers and working under the guidance of John Bastian and his team.

“I have aspirations to be a successful player and play Super League rugby with Featherstone Rovers. I cannot wait to settle in with my new team mates for a challenging pre-season.”
