France international forward Jamal Fakir has become the first signing of Marc Green’s ownership at Bradford Bulls.

Fakir, 31, has agreed a deal until the end of the season, following his recent release by Catalan.

Boss Francis Cummins said: “We are extremely happy to have Jamal on board, he will be massive for us going forward.

“To bring in someone of Jamal’s experience and quality, at this stage of the season, I would deem a massive coup for this club.

“We only want to bring players here that add something to the team and improve our chances of success. In Jamal, I believe we have done that.

“He brings a great deal of experience, given his impressive track record. Jamal is a player who has appeared on the international stage and – for a number of years – in Super League.

“We are working hard to further bolster the current roster, as we enter the next phase of the season.”

Fakir made three appearances for the Dragons, before apparently being made a scapegoat for the 56-14 defeat to Wakefield at the beginning of March.

After being asked to drop down to the club’s reserve grade, he parted company with the club.

Last season, he made 26 appearances for the Dragons, as well as playing four times for France at the World Cup, including the quarter-final defeat against England.
