Engage Community Award Winners 2012

The Super League trophy wasn’t the only prize handed out this weekend with a host of volunteers and community clubs rewarded for their efforts over the last 12 months.

The 2012 Engage Community Awards were handed out in the Captains Lounge at Old Trafford with six volunteers and three clubs all having their moment in the limelight.

All winners were nominated via the RFL’s regions from across England and after being shortlisted were picked by a special selection panel.

Every nominee was invited to the climax of the Stobart Super League season and was treated to corporate hospitality as a “thank you” for their superb efforts.

There were also accolades handed out to the winners of the recent “Engage with your club” project.

“As a mutual, supporting communities and good causes is extremely important to us and there is no better demonstration of the impact of volunteering than at Rugby League community clubs,” said Karl Elliott, Marketing Director at Engage Mutual.

“To play just a small part in promoting participation through our “engage with your club” initiative has been hugely rewarding.”

“We hope that the benefits of the action events are long lasting, and that volunteer support and enthusiasm in Rugby League continues to thrive.”
