Eels strip Foran of captaincy

The Parramatta Eels have taken the captaincy off Keiran Foran and fined him $5000 for missing a rehabilitation appointment.

The Eels hit Foran with a breach notice for failing to meet club commitments related to the rehab of his shoulder injury.

The club said in a statement: “The Parramatta Eels have relieved Kieran Foran of his captaincy duties for the remainder of the season so he can focus on his recovery from a shoulder injury.

“The club will not be making any comment regarding its in-house disciplinary systems.”

The Kiwi five-eighth has been ruled out for the season with the shoulder injury.

Foran has been struggling this year with off-field problems.
