Dudson latest Widnes player to re-sign

Prop Gil Dudson has joined the chorus of Widnes players re-signing with the club, with the forward committed to another two years.

After joining Widnes last year Dudson has made 38 appearances for the Vikings. bringing his career total to 127 appearances to date.

The front-rower began his rugby league apprenticeship with Torfaen Tigers and Newport Titans before stepping up and joining the ranks with the Crusaders.

Dudson was named in the Welsh National squad for the 2011 Rugby League Four Nations and 2013 Rugby League World Cup.

“Signing Gil to the Club for two years is a strong statement of intent by the Club and something we are very happy to announce,” Widnes head coach Denis Betts said.

“Gil has brought strength and size to the squad and has grown with the team showing potential and huge ambition. He is held in high regard by his team mates and peers which shows what a key role he plays.”

Dudson said he was “really pleased to have signed again”.

“I want to thank Denis and the coaching team for their support and efforts,” he said.

“Over the last year with the Club I feel I have developed as a player within the team and I am looking forward to building on the exciting things that are starting to happen here.”
