Doncaster announce signing of former Castleford forward

Doncaster have announced the signing of Robbie Storey from Dewsbury for the 2022 season.

Storey played the back end of the 2021 season with Dewsbury. He made seven appearances for them after signing from French Elite League side Carcassonne.

He previously made 17 appearances, scoring five tries for the French side.

Speaking to the club website about the move, Storey said: “I’m buzzing to be joining Doncaster for next season, I was really impressed with the way Richard Horne and Carl Hall came across in the meetings I had with them.

“There are a few boys within the squad that I have known for a while and that togetherness was a big reason for me coming here.

“The lads went close to promotion last season so I’m really looking forward to trying to a big push to improve on that next season.”

Doncaster announce fixture change

The South Yorkshire side have also announced their fixtures against Cornwall have been changed.

The first fixture, which will take place at the Keepmoat Stadium, was originally due to take place on 17th April.

It has now been brought forward by 24 hours, and will kick off at 1pm.

The reverse fixture has also had similar treatment. Their first visit down to Cornwall since their admission to League One ahead of the 2022 season.

That match will now take place on 9th July, with kick off at 1pm. It was originally scheduled to take place on 10th July, kicking off at 3pm.

Doncaster will start their League One campaign at the end of March, when they welcome the newly-branded Midlands Hurricanes to South Yorkshire.

Before then, they will enter the Challenge Cup at the end of January. They enter alongside the rest of the League One clubs, except Cornwall, and the 13 remaining Community clubs.
