Bradford back row forward James Donaldson has signed a new one year contract at the club, with an option for a further year.

Donaldson, 21, joined the Bulls in 2008 and has recovered well from missing almost the whole of 2012 with a knee injury.

This season he has made 17 appearances, scoring 2 tries, and he is delighted to have out pen to paper on a new deal.

Donaldson said, “It was always my first choice to stay at the Bulls. I’m chuffed to bits to get the deal out of the way and I can now concentrate on my rugby.

“My manager had a look around to see what was on the cards but Bradford’s the best place for me and once the deal from the club was on the table I didn’t want to go anywhere else.

“It’s just like a new start again now. All the injuries are behind me and I’m just looking ahead and I’m looking forward to further my career.”

Head coach Francis Cummins is happy to have Donaldson on board again:

“I’m really pleased for James because he’s not had the most straight forward career. He had a really good start and then he had some serious injuries but what he hasn’t done ever is let us down.

“We appreciate what he is about and he appreciates us. He doesn’t want to play for any other club and I know he’ll give everything he’s got for Bradford and that’s tremendous. It’s just what I’m looking for.”
