Diskin pleased with Bulldogs second half

Batley Bulldogs Head Coach Matt Diskin was happy with the second half performance of his charges after his side took control of their four-pointer with Oldham.

The Bulldogs boosted their hopes of a top half finish in the Championship with a 48-28 victory over the Roughyeds to leave Diskin in a buoyant mood.

“The second half was really good,” Diskin said.

“The first, I thought we didn’t start the game too well. We were slow out of the blocks, we were weak in contact and Oldham scored some good tries on us.”

“I gave them a kick up the bottom at half-time and in the second half they came out and were really good.” He continued.

“It gives us something to build on. That first half was a bit alarming, but the positives of the second were that we were good defensively and very clinical with the ball.”

“Some poor decisions by the referee at the end of the game took the gloss off it with the sending off of Dom Brambani, but let’s not have that distract from that second half where I thought my boys were good.”
