London coach Danny Ward was very proud of his players as they gained promotion to Super League.

The Broncos beat Toronto Wolfpack 4-2 in the Million Pound Game in Canada to gain promotion back to Super League.

London will return to the top-flight for the first time since 2014 next year and Ward was full of praise for his players who stunned heavy favourites Toronto.

He said: “What we have done is unbelievable, I am speechless.

“On day one in pre-season, we had a room full of kids because of the international games, we hadn’t replaced anyone from last year when we had lost a lot of experience and me and Langers (Jamie Langley) had to drill in that we were going to do something special this year and they took some convincing but they have worked their absolute nuts off since then and they have been outstanding.

“Finals football is different gravy. Defences win competitions and our defence was outstanding and so were Toronto’s – that’s why it came down to penalty goals. We could have been better in attack but I’m not going to moan too much.

“What a group of blokes we have here and they are a credit to London rugby league. I’m glad it’s done now. We can sit back, have a nice glass of scotch and enjoy.”

London will replace the already relegated Widnes Vikings in Super League next season, while Toronto will remain in the Championship.
