Keighley Cougars have confirmed that Danny Jones will be inducted in the club’s Hall of Fame on Friday.

The Welsh international died on May 3 this year, after suffering what turned out to be a cardiac arrest triggered by hereditary heart disease.

His wife Lizzie and young twins Bobby and Phoebe have received huge amounts of emotional support from the rugby league community.

An appeal for funds to support the young family has so far raised £205,457.80, with a further £38,765.18 waiting in Gift Aid.

“We will be inducting Danny Jones into our Hall of Fame,” Cougars chairman Danny Fawcett confirmed.

“Danny played over 150 first team games for us and scored over 1,000 points, one of only five people to do this for Keighley Cougars.

“It goes without saying that everyone at the club wanted Danny to be in our Hall of Fame so we are expecting a busy and emotional night.”
