Toulouse Olympique have confirmed that Danny Hulme will step down from their professional squad at the end of the current season.

The 25-year-old half back’s work as an engineer at Airbus means that he can no longer offer full commitment to the club.

Hulme helped Toulouse to the French Elite title in 2015, before scoring an astounding 17 tries in 16 games this season in League 1.

Toulouse have thanked the former Widnes and North Wales Crusaders man for his high quality play during his time in the ‘Pink City’.

A Toulouse statement reads: “To the chagrin of everyone, the players as well as the staff, Danny will have to leave the professional workforce at the end of this season.

“The whole of Toulouse Olympique warmly thank Danny for everything he has brought to the club during these two seasons, and hopes to offer him the best of parting gifts – a title!”
