Crusaders complete Sammut deal

Crusaders have completed the long-awaited signing of Maltese international scrum half Jarrod Sammut.

Sammut, 23, joins from NRL side Penrith who released him from the final year of his contract following a two year spell at the club.

Head coach Brian Noble said: “Jarrod is a class player with great skill and footwork. He was very highly thought of in the NRL and it is a major coup to have him here at Crusaders.

“He’s the kind of player who can change the outcome of a game and he is also a superb goalkicker.

“I think he and Michael Witt have the potential to form a very exciting half-back partnership for us here in Wrexham.”

Sammut goes straight into contention for Saturday’s Magic Weekend clash against Noble’s old side Bradford at Murrayfield.
