Corey Oates has signed a new one-year contract with Brisbane.

Oates has scored 79 tries in 120 appearances for the Broncos since making his professional debut in 2013, and he has also played five games for Queensland at Origin level.

The 24-year-old has penned a contract for 2019 with the Broncos, and has opened up about how he would like to stay at the club long-term.

On committing to Brisbane, Oates said: “The best thing to do was to get the one-year deal sorted – I don’t want to go anywhere else.

“I did a one-year deal last season to prove that I deserve a bigger contract, not money-wise, but because I want to stay here for a long time and do whatever I can for this club.

“There’s been a lot going on in the back end of the season behind the scenes – and the best option was to clear my head, sign the one-year deal and back myself once again.”

Oates scored 18 tries in 23 games for the Broncos in 2018, and was voted XXXX Fan’s Player Of The Year.
