Chris Thorman the early favourite for Huddersfield job

James Gordon

Interim head coach Chris Thorman is the early favourite with the bookmakers to land the Huddersfield Giants job full-time following the departure of Rick Stone.

Stone became the first casualty of the new Super League season earlier on Tuesday having won just two of their first seven games.

They struggled at the start of last season before a revival them saw them finish in the top eight.

There’s a Bradford flavour about the next five candidates in Betfred’s list, including current coach John Kear and Toronto’s director of rugby Brian Noble.

Longer shots are current player Danny Brough taking on the role, while returns to the club for Paul Anderson and Jon Sharp are speculated.
