Wakefield head coach Chris Chester was incensed at the controversial decision to rule out Bill Tupou’s try before eventually suffering an 18-12 defeat at the hands of Hull FC.
“I don’t know what that last try got chalked off at the end for, it is a terrible decision,” Chester told Sky Sports.
“The boys deserved something out of that game tonight. I thought for long parts of that game we were the better team.
“Unfortunately we just weren’t clinical enough in that final ten.
“We played tough and defended tough and we are all just disappointed because we thought we deserved a lot more.
“We have been very average the last six or seven weeks.
“We turned a bit of a corner, we’ve defended very tough tonight but that’s two weeks now where we weren’t clinical enough in that final third.
“Credit to Hull FC, they stuck in and got the win.”
