Wakefield coach Chris Chester says Trinity aren’t getting ahead of themselves after reaching the Challenge Cup semi-finals.

Wakefield saw off Huddersfield to get to the last four.

“It felt very, very good,” Chester said.

“I thought we strangled them with the field position. It’s a great feeling to know we’re in the semi finals of the Challenge Cup.

“I thought we looked afetr Broughy’s kicking game pretty well.

“It’s a long time since the club’s been involved in finals and semi-finals. But we’re not getting ahead of ourselves.

“You see the pictures of Neil Fox and Derek Turner lifting the Cup, hopefully we see the likes of Tom Johnstone doing that one day.

“We can’t afford to lose focus, we’ve got a Super League campaign to focus on. We still need another win to guarantee us in the top eight.

“There’s a hell of a lot to play for before the semi-final.”

Chester praised Wakefield’s loud away support.

“Our fans were fantastic tonight,” he said.

“They outsung the Huddersfield fans.”
