Championship round-up: Round 2

The Betfred Championship is really living up to its expectations of the league being more competitive than ever before.

The shock of the weekend came at Craven Park as Barrow Raiders earned a point against Toronto Wolfpack, with the game ending an 8-8 draw.

Dewsbury Rams put up a strong fight against full-time outfit London Broncos, with the capital side only winning 12-0 at The Tetley’s Stadium.

It wasn’t a massive shock to see Featherstone Rovers beat full-time club Toulouse Olympique at The LD Nutrition Stadium, but it was a surprise to see the French outfit concede 36 points.

Halifax are looking strong again this year as they eased past Sheffield Eagles 30-10 at The MBi Shay Stadium.

Leigh Centurions bounced back from defeat to Toronto last week with a resounding 34-6 victory over Batley Bulldogs at a bitter cold Leigh Sports Village on Sunday afternoon.

The clash between Swinton Lions and Rochdale Hornets was called off due to poor pitch conditions at Heywood Road.
