Champ & L1: Dewsbury retain Esslemont, Porter’s new York deal & Stead commits to Keighley

Championship

Dewsbury forward Sonny Esslemont has committed to the club for next season. The 26-year-old joined the Rams ahead of the 2020 campaign.

York have confirmed that Joe Porter has signed a new one-year deal with the club for 2021. The 27-year-old has been at the Knights since 2017.

League 1

Keighley half-back Ben Stead has agreed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the Cougars until the end of 2021. Stead returned to the Cougars for a second spell ahead of this year following a four-year spell away from his hometown club.

North Wales Crusaders centre Earl Hurst has signed a new deal with the club for next season. The 31-year-old is currently in his second spell with the Welsh club, having made almost 70 appearances so far.
