Catalans captain Benjamin Garcia suffers abductor injury

Catalans Dragons have confirmed that club captain Benjamin Garcia has suffered a low grade abductor strain following Saturday’s Super League victory over Leigh.

Garcia, 28, left the field early into his side’s 36-30 win over the Centurions at Leigh Sports Village, and scans have now revealed the injury blow.

Earlier this year, the France international was appointed as successor to previous captain Remi Casty following his move to Championship side Toulouse Olympique

Garcia has been an ever-present for the table-topping Dragons so far in 2021, scoring in each of their opening three Super League matches.

The club have not confirmed when the utility forward will return.
