Bradford Bulls have announced their squad numbers for the 2010 Super League season.

The squad includes four players promoted for the first time and as expected new recruit Matt Orford will wear the Number 7 shirt. Of the other new recruits, Brett Kearney will wear Number 6; Heath L’Estrange takes over the Number 9 from the departing Terry Newton whilst Glenn Hall takes over the Number 12 shirt worn last year by Glenn MorrisonStuart Reardon will be Number 5 whilst Danny Sculthorpe gets the Number 17 shirt

Nick Scruton gets the No 8 shirt previously worn by Aussie bound Sam Burgess whilst Dave Halley will wear the Number 1 shirt next season.

Four of the Bulls Juniors have been promoted to the 30 man squad and will train full time and these are Props George and Tom Burgess, Stand Off or Centre Joe Wardle and Hooker Adam O’Brien.

Commenting on the numbers today, Bulls Coach Steve McNamara said: “All players start on an equal footing for the new season so you shouldn’t read too much into shirt numbers but Dave Halley has been given No 1 because of his impressive form at full back last year. We decided to give Stuart Reardon No 5 because, although he has the capability to play anywhere in the back three, we see his best position for the Bulls being on the wing.

“Heath has been given No 9 shirt but that’s because Wagga had No 14 last season and we decided to stick with that. They will battle for the starting place.  The four new boys in the squad will bring their youthful exuberance to the team and they have already impressed in pre season training.

“It’s a young squad, full of talent and potential and it’s good to see that we have sixteen home grown players in the twenty nine listed. The quality of Juniors that are now at the club is testament to Paul Medley and his recruitment team who have worked very hard to bring these player to the Bulls.”
