Bulldogs to contest Brambani red card

Batley’s experienced playmaker Dominic Brambani had an eventful game on Sunday.

Having earlier been sin-binned, Brambani returned to the field to score a crucial try, set one up and guide the Bulldogs around the field. He was then shown a red card.

Bulldogs’ Head Coach Matt Diskin revealed he will take up the dismissal with the RFL.

“It was dissent apparently,” he said. “We are going to request the audio from the RFL because we heard it. The touch judge gave a penalty to Batley and for some reason the referee reversed the decision. Dom questioned the decision and was sent off for it.

“I thought Dom was fantastic. I thought he was unlucky with his first-half sin-binning – he was very unlucky with the sending off, but his performance was good. Dom controlled everything and when we got into the opposition half he was clinical with his decisions and deserved his try.”
