Warrington have confirmed they have agreed to release Brett Hodgson from the final year of his contract.

Hodgson, 35, will leave the Wolves at the end of the season to consider a number of options open to him, after scoring 788 points in 75 appearances for the club since arriving in 2011.

He will play his final home match on Thursday night against Huddersfield, the club with whom he first came to Super League in 2009.

A Wolves club statement said: “All at the club would like to thank him for his service to the Wolves and wish him well for his future.”

The Australian previously racked up more than 200 NRL appearances for Western Suburbs, Parramatta and Wests Tigers, winning the NRL Premiership in 2005.
