Brad Singleton to captain Leeds

Prop Brad Singleton will captain Leeds as they travel to Halifax in The Qualifiers on Sunday.

Singleton, 25, deputises for injured skipper Kallum Watkins in what will be the first meeting between the two sides for more than 15 years.

Leeds won that last meeting 54-6 at Headingley, with Jamie Jones-Buchanan scoring in the game, the only player still at the Rhinos from that day.

Brett Ferres is missing through suspension, with Anthony Mullally and Ashton Golding returning to the 19-man squad.

Halifax welcome centre Steve Tyrer back in to the squad, though he is rated as a 50/50 chance of playing following an MCL injury.

Castleford loanee Brandon Douglas returns from a calf problem, but Simon Grix, Ed Barber, Harry Kidd and Jordan Baldwinson all remain sidelined.

Halifax 19-man squad: Butler, Cooper, Davies, Douglas, Fairbank, Fleming, Grady, Heaton, Johnston, Jones, Kaye, Maher, Moore, Moss, Murrell, Sharp, Tangata, Tyrer, Woodburn-Hall.

Leeds 19-man squad: Golding, T Briscoe, Sutcliffe, Moon, Myler, Cuthbertson, Parcell, Singleton, Jones-Buchanan, Dwyer, Mullally, Keinhorst, Peteru, Walker, Smith, Walters, L Briscoe, Crosby, Thompson.
