Betts: We need a win from somewhere

Widnes coach Denis Betts says his team are the only ones who can turn their terrible form around.

The Vikings fell to their eighth defeat in a row with a four-point defeat to Salford.

They led 12-4 at half-time but the Red Devils scored twice in the second half to take the win.

“I thought we burned a couple of chances today,” Betts said.

“A couple of little things threw us a bit. Losing Aaron [Heremaia] was a bit of a blow to us. It’s another game where we’re pretty close but not close enough.”

“They stayed in the fight Salford, they bombed a couple of chances themselves.”

Widnes face Huddersfield next and Betts said his side need a victory “from somewhere”.

“We’re a decent group. We’re a good group,” he said.

“We know the only people who can turn this around are us. We’ve got to try and found a win from somewhere.

“There’s a not a lot that’s wrong. I’m not trying to recreate the wheel, just doing the little things better.
