Catalans Dragons have revealed that loose forward Jason Baitieri has signed a new two-year deal at the club, with the option of a third.

The 26-year-old made his debut for the Dragons in 2011, and this season clocked up his 100th appearance for the club.

“I am delighted to have re-signed for two years with the Catalans Dragons,” he said.

“This is already my fifth season and I am very well here with my wife and my daughter. We have a hard season to finish and I will deal all the more serenely with this new contract.

“I am proud to be part of the club’s future and proud about the trust it has for me.”

Catalans coach Laurent Frayssinous is pleased that the player has committed his future to the club.

“I am very satisfied by Jason’s contract renewal,” he said.

“He was very unlucky with his knee injury in 2013, he has worked hard to get back to his best.

“He is a very consistent player in his performance each weekend, and I count on him in the coming years to transmit his experience to the young French players.

“He’s the kind of player that every coach is looking for.”
