Asotasi blow for Souths

South Sydney captain Roy Asotasi will be out for four months after undergoing hand surgery.

Asotasi, 29, picked up the injury in Friday’s win over Cronulla and will now miss most of the rest of the season.

X-rays and an MRI scan determined that the New Zealand skipper had dislocated bones in his hand that make up the wirst, which has required an operation to repair the damage.

Souths 31-12 victory over the Sharks moved them up to 10th in the NRL ladder with three wins from their eight games so far.
