Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson has revealed that Leroy Cudjoe will be absent when the Giants travel to face Castleford Tigers on Thursday evening.

Cudjoe has a slight knee problem, and should be fit to return to action in a week or so.

Leroy Cudjoe is out. He’s got a slight tweak on his knee – nothing too serious. He’ll miss this week and he’s probably got a good chance for the weekend after,” Anderson told his club’s official website.

Jake Connor and Jodie Broughton will play. It’s been tough for Jodie and it’s a credit to him as a person how he’s handled himself. He’s been working hard here and he’s got a burning desire to play.”

Anderson feels that his team have to show that they have learned lessons after a convincing Challenge Cup defeat to Leeds on Saturday afternoon.

But he also expects a response from Cas to their recent defeats too.

“It’s two teams who’ve got points to prove, especially for us – we seriously let ourselves down,” he added.

“We dipped our toe in the water. Leeds played very well, we just couldn’t go with it at the time. That just wasn’t acceptable, so we’ve got to make sure we get back on the horse.

“The short turnaround with the Thursday night game is probably going to help us – you don’t have time to dwell on it. We’re refusing to allow what happened on Saturday derail what we’re trying to achieve.

“Castleford are just two places behind us so it’s a good opportunity to go to a tight environment and play well. We’ve got to make sure our start is good; we’ve got to come out all guns blazing.
